It has been my experience that people who understand and respect their bodies tend to have an open and compassionate perspective on life. I believe that the way we inhabit our bodies affects the ways in which we perceive the world and behave toward one another.
Since I was a child, I have always been fascinated by the workings of the human mind and body. For the past 27 years I had the great privilege to study under the guidance of some of the best movement educators and pioneers in their field. Over time it has become very clear to me, that in order to change an outdated, outmoded pattern in the body, you would first have to address and engage the enteric area of the peripheral nervous system. This can be accomplished by becoming more attuned to our physical experiences and practicing interoceptive modalities, taping into our intuitive capacity to perceive. This is best supported by turning our attention inside the body in a meditative receptive manner that creates a deep state of relaxation. This ability to feel deeply relax restores a sense of safety and well being in the brain allowing the body to receive the appropriate information needed to transform and heal itself.
